Angry ML320 auto Window up

I'm new to this Club. I have to many trips to the Dealer for my ML320 / 2002.

1- All the windows if I left them open up about 2" during the warm day, and as soon as I start the car and I want to close the windows and by pushing the Auto up buttons, the windows will come back down about 2" as soon as they went all the way up.
If i tried a couple or tree times they will stay up.

This is an intermittent symptom.

Does any one has this experinces? Any recommend to the dealer?
I took the car back to the dealer for this problem FOUR times.

Try the synch proceedure for the windows as described in the manual. If they continue to do this after, go to the dealer as there is a new part number for the window switch module in the consol which does eliminate this problem. I have an early build 02 ML500 and had the same situation. Factory sent an engineer to see my ML early on and this new module followed. Haven't had the problem since it was installed

weird, my friend's 02 ML500 has the same problem (also an early build)

Hi Sosh,

Thank you for the infomation.

I did the sync procedure first before I took it to the Dealer. I rolled the window up and press and hold the swithch button for 10 sec., and it still fails. Then I took it to the Dealer, they replaced almost every parts in the window and even the swith module in the console, the motor and actuator.

This happens whe the day is warm and left the window crack open about 2".

This car has so many problems since I got it.

1- Broken front End bumper at the headlight.
2- Wind shield reservoir was leakage, replaced three times.
3- The two black plastic covers close to wing windows were craked.
4- Rattle noise fron the center Air console, bad Actuator for the flaps.
5- All doors selonoid for the locks has been replaced two to three times.
6- The purge valve make too noisy. It was not proper routed and make a lot of ping noise when car is in idle mode.
7- Gassoline guage was not working properly, only read about 3/4 of tank when it is filled up.
and moore..

I saved at least 3k to 4k miles on my car, because I've been driven the loaner for the last 18 months...

I do like this car, but with this many probelms, It makes me think to give up..

On my ML500 they replaced all the motors in the door and the module but to no avail untill the new module was brought out. The problem for me only occurred when the car was parked and left with a widow cracked open like in hot weather or in my garage. Happened on whatever window I had left open at that time. Been fixed now for some time. Have not experienced the other problems you mentioned but I have had a few others. I am fortunate as my dealer has been teriffic. Have bought 3 MBs from them since 98
