ML 350 gas tank

My gas tank is leaking. Wanted to find out if this is a manufactures defect? This doesnt seem like a normal repair unless something was defective. May will be 8 yrs so dont think that should be something that should warrant changing so soon...thanks

The leak could be coming from a number of locations, including any one of the many lines that are connected to the pump, filter or tank itself.

You can start by removing the left rear seat, pull up the carpeting and check for leakage at the top of the fuel pump.

You will have to put the truck on a lift to discover the location of the leak..
