Well its time to get rid of the OEM crap finally after all these years (my 99 ML is a solid workhorse but the stock amp finally died)
Where is the stock amp located?
Do you guys just run new speaker wiring to each door to bypass the stock amp? I plan to run a JL 500/5 amplifier so each door gets new speakers and a decent 10" JL subwoofer setup on those days I want some "bump"
What have you guys done for the audio wiring?
What is the best place to run the battery power wire through the engine firewall?
If there is another thread that documents this can you point me in that direction since I could not find it while seaching.

My 99 I had awhile back i bypassed at the amp right above the steering wheel. thought it would save time and hassle of wiring new wires into each door and just use existing wire. in the end, not sure if it saved time or not, but, you could go either way.
