Would 285/55/19 be too big for ML?

Would 285/55/19 be too big for ML? Discount Tires suggest I go with 285/55/19 with my wheel of choice 19" Club Linea Barletta. The OEM 17 is 275/55/19 and for 19" too??? Please advise

Lightbulb Would 285/55/19 rub against my Fender too much?

OverSize tire 285/55/19 on does it rub again the fender a lot. Hows the ride quality? where I live have a lot of speed bumps, would it cause any problem for me?

well I usually go at a crawl speed over speed bumps anyway so I don't know why ride quality over them would be a concern. Harris just thought the wheels were ugly for an ML (as do I). Depending on the tire you get, 285/55/19 should ride fine. I have driven on 295/45 20 on an 02 ML500 and I think it has a better ride on bumpy roads than my ML with 255/65 R16

You should keep the overall diameter between the stock tire and the new tire the same. 285/55/19 has a much bigger overall diameter than your stock 275/55/17. Thats why you have to put 285/45/19 to balance it out.

I'm running 285/45/19s on Mille Miglia Evos. I think they are a bit too big. I bought them several years ago before the 285/45/19 fitment was available. I had the Pirelli Scorpions for almost 35k miles and they still have a lot of tread. I can't wait to go to a 285/45/19.

I think that the Barletta's would look nice on the ML! I got the Club Linea Misterios in 18" from DiscountTireDirect myself.

Oh, and the wheels are 9 inches wide. It is really noticable how wide they are! I can't imagine having 10" wide wheels!

I got the Nitto NT404 Extreme Force SUV tires.. they're pretty nice so far, not any worse than the Michelin Cross Terrain SUV tires I had on before.

Nice

Your Club Linea look very nice. This just reassure me that they do have a correct fitment for my ML. But sadly I will need to put my New Wheel onhold for now due to stupid human mistake I need to repaint my hatch cause I closed my garage before I close my rear hatch. Therefore, I'm shopping for a roof wing and fender flare right now to make my trip to bodyshop a one way stop to make it look even better. The roof Wing and fender flare was my last concern but the scratch made me do it.
