HOW TO CHANGE MERC ML 163 FRONT DOOR SPEAKER WIRES
Hope this is in the correct section, i wish to change the speaker wires in my ml doors to thicker gauge. is there a guide to removing the wire plug in between the door and the car.
the bit i cant fathom is the wire gland i cant seem to work out how the large piece at the top right drivers picture comes away, the piece closest to the car, that part of the gland looks easy i have done loads like that but the top end i don't want to break. the top piece nearest the wife's fingers is the piece i need to work out how it come undone.

thank you Maj. Dundee, once i have done what you showed me the piece in the picture with an arrow is left in the door it feels like its screwed or Allen bolted in do you have any idea how and what i use to take that part out. Also do you know what the pin outs are for as well because i wish to drill 2 holes out to so i can run bigger speaker cables? Thanks for your help so far.

I fail to understand what you mean. You have the ability to take photos which should also give you the ability to annotate them.
When you pushed the lever were you able to remove the green marked connector or did the entire connector (red) come out?

thanks Maj. Dundee, for getting back to me so quickly. the last picture i put up it has a red arrow pointing at the clip. on your last picture its a green for the clip, red is the piece on the right of the picture that piece stays in the door, when i feel top and bottom of it its like a screw of sorts. i want to take that bit out and drill holes to pass speaker cable through it using pins that are not in use or make my own holes. i hope this helps you understand better what I'm trying to do.

The use of Pozidriv screws are rarely used in automotive, let alone M/B. It's probably a Torx screw or bolt. Below is what a Posidriv screw head looks like.

i have taken pictures to show you what i found, can you tell me what each of the pin-outs are for. or rather which ones i can drill out, or where i can drill through to place larger cables. thanks for taking the time.

Only you know how large these cables are so you have to size up everything before you start drilling. Do not disconnect any of the pins, as every one means something. Also do not cut the rubber boot.
The only available spaces are the areas marked with the red line.
