Angry ML Window Switches - Proactive replacement or TSB?

With the number of MLs experiencing failed window switches, it would seem reasonable for MB to issue either a recall or Technical Service Bullentin in which MB replaces the window switches BEFORE they fail (and leave the owner stuck with an open window).

What's your opinion? Will MB step up and keep their customers happy (read that as loyal)...or will we have to wait until the switch fails in order to get a new redesigned switch??

The switches were changed for 2002. Believe me, they do not seem to be any better. I have had the switch module changed twice in 2300 miles on my ML500. My previous 98 ML320 had 3 switch failures in 40 months and 45000 miles.

Right now, Mercedes has something like 20,000 ML window switch units backordered nationwide. They just recently asked us to provide amperage-draw readings whenever we replace the switches. Apparently the manufacturer of the window switches is blaming the manufacturer of the window motors, saying they draw too much amperage and it's burning out the switches. I don't remember seeing a TSB on the window switch failures, nor do I foresee them issuing a recall for this problem.
