Diagnostic tool cannot connect with ML500 to diagnose Check Engine Light
So I took my 03 ML500 to a friends shop to see what the codes are for my Check Engine light that turned on. However we kept getting an error on the diagnostic tool that it cannot connect to the car.

What could be the issue?

2002 ML 320 & 2006 ML500
With a DVOM conduct the tests at the Data Link Connector.
