Transmission?

Transmission?
Started out not changing gears. Took it in said it could be speed sensor or conductor plate. When tested called back back said it was conductor plate and would cost 643.00. Called back said when they dropped the plate it had metal shavings in it and I need a transmission. Although told in beginning my transmission was fine. Any suggestions?

Conductor Plate
Well today my trany couldn't take it anymore. No more resetting. It just wouldn't shift past 1st gear. Yes it was the dreaded conductor plate on my 7 speed trany. I was 3 hours from home in Chattanooga. Had it towed to Long MB and the gave me the bad news. But for some reason I wasn't upset because I was expectimg it. They treated me well knowing I was from out of town. They got right on it and told me what it needed, Unfortunately they had to order the part. Total cost $966. They gave me a loaner (2013 C250) to drive until it's repaired. Hopefully tomorrow. And guys I live 3 hours away in a different state and they give me a car to drive. I will be buying my next Mercedes from Long Mercedes Benz in Chattanooga Tennessee...........
