Unhappy Rougher ride on ML320 2K2 after 20K miles.

Need some advice.

I'm having a problem on my ML320 2002, since I drop it off for A/C's fan noise from the center console. The car has about 22K miles on it now. Service B was done last week.

The car is rougher ride than it was. I drove the same road since I bought this car and it was ridden very smooth, then. Now it bounces so much and it feels like I drive a small pick up truck with 40psi tire pressure on them.

I took it back two times and test rode with the mechanics and they said they are checking the suspensions, and both times when I got it back it's still the same.

Tires pressure were checked and changed to 30/32psi from 32/34, and even lower to 28/30.

The Dealer says this is a bit rogher but it is normal.
I've told them I've been driven this car for the last 18 months, I know what the differences of smoother and rougher.
My friend has a 2K1 and it rides a bit rougher than the 2K2. I know that the 2K2 has changed the Tires and Rims size and tweak the supension to have a softer ride.

And It was softer ride for the last 17 months, not anymore.

Does anyone have this problem or experince?

Thanks,
Eav

My ride is pretty rough too

But that's after installing 20inch rims. You may want to try keeping all the tires at the same PSI.......at 29psi. Good luck!

I think I did not make myself clear. I did not change any rims or tires sizes. This is a original sizes which are 17" rims, the 2001 was 16" rims.

Thank any way!!!

I would get the dealer to help you diagnose the problem a little better. Ask them to put a new set of rims/tires off a brand new one and drive it around, see if it makes the difference. I think its your tires personally.. Did u get the conti 4x4 contact? or the SP5000s.

I had that rock "n" rolling problem on my

2000 ML, I complained tha to my dealer and have the Shop Foreman ride with me, so he can feel what I'm talking, I drove first then he drove, finally he agreed that my rear spring and four shocks need to replace, they did it under warranty. Since then I don't feel that rocky ride. Try to convince your shop foreman to ride with you. good luck

AlBoston,

I have the SP5000's. I'll ask them to do just that by sapped with a new set of tires and test it. I heard that they have some kind of tires are not rounded and it bounces when you passed 60 or 70mph and have a hard time to steer, but mine just like a roky ride all the time.

Thanks,
Eav
