Hi everyone,
I was pricing my dad's '99 ML430 and it was only worth 19g's!!!! It has 50k miles, runnin boards, brush guard, fog lights, skyview. The body is in good condition. But i'm wondering why it's only worth 19g's?

My grandfather's '99 C230K is worth 16g's, but has only 20k miles on it...

I thought the ML would be worth more than that.

Well, the pre-owned market is really soft right now. I am taking it this was a dealer trade-in price. The dealers always buy back of wholesale value. IMO the skyview is also a problem. Lots of known problems with them and repairs costs are very high. If you sold it yourself you should be able to add a few k to it. Good luck.

I've heard that the skyview had its share of problems...but I guess we've been lucky so far, no problems with it I can't speak for the rest of the car tho

The used car market is very low at this point - just look at some of the ML's competitors for a comparo. For example, a '99 Lexus RX with 50k and AWD, leather, good condition, just went for $13k here. That's pretty bad, even though Lexuses (Lexi ) usually don't have good resale values anyway.

Out of the MB lineup, the ML probably does have the least residual value as a used car at this point because there are so many of them and competition for used mid-size luxury SUVs is very fierce, so prices drop down drastically so that they sell.
