Please Help ML430 - Rotors & Pads

Here is the situation

I bought a 2000 ML430 with 30k miles on it. I now have 34k miles and there is a terrible squealing when backing into the water with my boat. My father who was a mechanic for 15 yrs says the rotors are blue & grooved and are the rotors are shot.

I called the service rep today from Mercedes and he is giving me the run around saying that this is not a warranty item and Mercedes will not cover anything, he then tells me that I need to work something out with the sales person. The sales person runs the service records and tells me that all rotors and pads were replaced 4k miles before I got the truck. He then tells me I need to talk to the guy who certified the truck.

Can you guys give me some advice, I feel I should not have to pay for new brakes being I only drove the car for 4k miles and it is supposedly certified.

Thanks for the help

I'm surprised at these dealers who keep passing the buck. If your car is "certified", there should be some documentation as to what that means. Often times, brake rotors are not covered, however, the repairs performed by MB dealers come with a 12mo/12,000mi guarantee.

Find someone higher up in the food chain and tell him/her to stop giving you the runaround.
