If you can get the part number (call a Canadian dealer, if you have to), you should be able to order it.

The spare tire carrier was originally available in the US as well. In fact, a dealer in California, IIRC, stocked up a whole lot of them right when they found out that MB was stopping sale of it in the US. Then the dealer was selling them to people who wanted them - stock lasted up through 2001 or 2002 IIRC
The reason for the discontinuation of the carrier for the US was that even though MB didn't let you configure an ML with the carrier together with the M7 (third-row seats), if you put in the M7 by yourself later on, the safety for the 3rd row passengers was not up to par with Mercedes' internal safety specs. AFAIK, it still passed US safety requirements, etc. - just not MBUSA's internal specs.

I have a spare tire carrier on my ML320
I purchased my 98 ML320 from a dealer here in the US (WA). The ML was originally from Canada and it already had the spare tire carrier mounted on the rear.
I'm debating whether I should sell it. How much do you think someone would be willing to pay for one of these? I might be inclined to sell it if it isn't too much of a hassle to remove and ship.

If I may say so, this is one of the most ugly accesories I've ever seen. Yuk! If a full size spare is that important I'd find a way to put it inside stored at the side.

The ML55 doesn't conatain a "full size" spare tire in the vehicle. It is some worthless piece of crap that actually tells you to add some air to it before driving a small distance.
