Front end noise 2003 ml350
I cannot figure out what the noise coming from my front end. Its a chattering noise when I first accelerate. Then you can hear a rattleling noise while drive. I changed both front bearing and the left hand cv shaft but still the noise remains. I had it on a lift but there is no noise with wheels off the ground. The drive shaft has just a little play in it when you apply force back and forth. It drives fine, but have this noise I cant figure out. Not sure if it could be the front differential. I would think I would feel somthing in the front end if it was that. Is there any way to check the front drive shaft or front differential. I see in the forum about maybe being the steering knuckle. But it steers fine. I am lost for waht to repair.

Im not sure if we have the same noise. With the noise i have, sound like it coming from the belt. A small Squeaky when accelerate. Then less squeaky when speed up but still a liitle noise.
It drive me nut when i accelate from stop. Anybody has the same problem and know what it is?

Front end noise MOTOR MOUNTS
we have owned our ML since new. It has 98k on it. we have put three sets of motor mounts in 10 years. Usually driver side goes out. But always cheaper to replace both at the same time.
