Fog lights inop?
Hi all. Great forum 
I recently purchased a '99 ML430 and the fog lights (integrated into the headlamp housings) are not working.
Being new to MB's, I am assuming that they are supposed to
Anyway, the switch is on the dash (the rear lamp works), the wiring is in the headlamp housings and the bulbs are installed(they are new, I put them in).
Am I missing something?

I know this has been kinda beat to death...so you might want to do a search about fog lights on this forum.
Heres the scoop as far as I can tell.....
The fog lights in the light housing do not work...they are not hooked up. here in Connecticut the dealers disconnect those fog lights because they are not street legal?? I think?? My dealer told me If I wanted to hook them up that it could be done in Rhode Island where it wasn't illegal.
I ended up adding my own fog lights...Hella FF100's. Also had to have my dealer activate the in dash button so the green light would come on when the fog lights were turned on.
Did that make sense??

I was told that the fog lights in the main headlight housing are hooked up. All you have to do is insert the foglight bulbs and have your dealer program them to operate, which takes less than 5 minutes. I recall being told something about an all activity module. Whether the dealer will activate them is another issue. It will depend on the state you live in and whether they allow fog lights to be that high; even though they don't blind oncoming traffic.
