New issues after brake light switch replaced
I'm looking for some advice on how to proceed with my 2001 ML320. I'm not sure if I should keep trying to fix it or if it's just time to let it go.
Last week I had the brake light switch replaced at the dealership (open recall), because my brake lights would stay on continuously. It fixed the issue with the brake lights, but ever since then the BAS/ESP light keeps coming on. I took it back to the dealership and they swore up and down it had nothing to do the the switch replacement, and instead wanted to charge me $1200 for a new hydraulic booster.
Additionally, since they had the car, it's having more and more trouble starting up. It turns over but takes a long time to actually start, longer every day it seems. Dealership is blaming the fuel filter and wiring, another mechanic said it might be the fuel pump.
Now, I can see the slow starting problem happening right after the switch replacement being a coincidence, but with the BAS/ESP light I'm just not so convinced. Has anybody had similar experiences?
