broken window switch
it's a very very common problem with this car and most people just replace the entire window switch board. If your still under warranty just call the roadside service as they usually have a few in their truck and can swap in 5 minutes. Otherwise there should be instructions somewhere on this board if you do a window switch search.
It's only a $40 part, just buy it from your dealer.....
Here are some posted instructions on how to take out the window switch. Repair the switch if you want but the problem will return and I'd suggest swapping out the entire board just to save the hassles.

a car that can't do the throttle reset.
mb knows all about it... just go to the dealer and tell them you want it done as a service cause the known bad history of those going bad on the ml's. they did it for me.
My '98 ML320 has had 2 (two!) changes for the window switch ...
my mechanic commented that at least the ML has probably the cheaper parts for the mercedes models.
By the way -- notice that the switch is made in Mexico -- is that a German state ??????? just like Alabama ???? That's why German made benzes are built better -- my '81 300SD (owned for 15 years) has no problem (OK - I'm lying - the air con gave out three years ago) ... but the engine is original and close to 300K -- oh, the window switches have never been replaced

Everyone talks talks talks about how the old Mercedes used to be better... but no one understands that the US FEDERAL GOVERMENT has these requirements... think like safety... and CAFE... etc. Those requirements mean that the rest of your car has to be lighter so that all the extra stuff can be added to the car. So yes, window switches are made of cheaper, thinner materials. CD changers use only 5 wires instead of 10. And so on.
