2003 ML350 transmission shift
In May 2010 the previous owner had a MB dealer fix a shift issue. It would shift from 1 to 2 but then no more, until it came to a stop then shifted normally - but only did this occasionally. The dealer claimed faulty speed sensors on trans electrical plate, found codes P220A & P2200. 274980 R&R trans valve body/replace trans conductor plate w/speed sensors/replace trans electrical busing, PN 140-270-11-61, $939.00!!!
The second owner, my daughter said it was doing the same thing with her driving. Now I'm the owner and my wife has reported to me twice that it was doing the exact same thing. I drove the car 4 times but could not duplicate the issue. I've read there is a new version of valve body.
Any help would be appreciated, especially specifics and part numbers.
Thanks, Steve

The first thing that you should do is separate the 13 pin connector on right side of the trans. and check if there is fluid present.
If there is, a new connector bushing must be installed. After the installation, all the codes in the ECM must be erased and then the 3 digit codes from the ETC (Trans. Control Module) must also be erased.
Refer to posts 18 and 30 in the below thread for photos of the 13 pin connector.
