Fuel Guage & Outside Temperature (Not Working) :( PLS Help!!
I am wondering if someone could help, I have not long purchased a Ml270 and is slowly learning.
I have an issue with the fuel gauge not working and the outside temperature reading - 38
I have read forums stating to turn the ignition on so you have all the dash lights on (just before starting the vehicle). Take fuse 5 out (cluster instrument fuse) and then turn the vehicle off.
Wait for 20/30 seconds and put the fuse back in.
(Once I have done this the fuel needle shoots up to full then slowly back down to 0 - with the engine running and after a long drive)
I have done this with a full tank, half a tank and nearly empty - as I have estimated a fair few times I can do 450miles before I run out. So every time I fill up a full tank - where I can see the fuel in the filler neck/basically to the brim and set my millage to 0.
As regards to the Outside Temperature I have bought a new air temperature sensor and have fitted it today and the reading is still -38.
I have even reset the instrument cluster hoping that this might solve it.
(I am correct in saying the sensor located in the front passenger side bumper? - must say looks like someone has already had a fiddle due to it being freely behind the bumper)
I am thinking about putting a multi meter to the sensor to see if I receive any current. Am I missing something or has someone else had this problem and resolved it?
Any help or information would be highly appreciated.
(Thankyou)
