Additional indicators (voltage, temperature,...)
Hi all, I enjoy adding some more check istruments on car panel,
I installed a simple DIGITAL VOLTMETER (2 wires, check ebay) and it is very useful to check battery and alternator,
a good place to install is the small plate behind the ignition key: easy to access and remove, and if you damage it or want to restore, it can be a chep spare part.
some data (approximately):
standby voltage (battery) 12.3 V
pre heating: 11.0V
during engine start (maximum load): 10,5 good, 9.0 a bit low battery
engine running (and charging): 14.4 V

By the way,
I am now installing an Automatic transmisison oil thermometer
can anyone suggest the best position to stick the small thermometer probe
(easy to access and effective)
