I've noticed that I never get any high beams on my truck. It has the sport package with the Bi-xenon headlamps. I'm only getting partial high beams, that is the Bi-xenons simply become brighter. But the halogens never turn on.

This is an old thread, but someone else may find this information useful:

The high beams in my 2001 ML320 did not work. The light on the dashboard indicating the high beam switch position did work. The high beam bulbs, which are the lower ones in headlight assembly, did not have burnt out filaments, which caused me to think the problem was elsewhere.

The problem turned out to be that the filaments of both bulbs had broken off inside of the bulb due to (I'm guessing) metal fatigue at the point where they touch the glass.
