BAS/ESP Light on when i touch the brakes.
Hi all!
I really need some assistance on this issue:
I have a 2004 Mercedes-Benz ML 270 CDI, the engine and drivetrain comes from a 2002/2001 ML 270, after a total rebuild of the car.
My question is basically; does the older ML's (2001-2002) have brake pad sensors on all four wheels or just 1 front and 1 rear? Mine only has 1 front and rear, and I am quite sure the BAS/ESP-problem I have is related to the brake pad-sensors, as the light only comes on when I touch the brake even slightly.
and yes, I have changed the brake light switch and the discs and pads recently.
I have also changed the MAF.
Another solution can be that the BAS/ESP main unit has a shortsuircuit bco a big leak in the washer fluid tank. Does anyone have any experience on this?
Any help and or tips would be greatly appreciated!

My 2000 Ml320 had 1 front & 1 rear brake pad sensor. My 2002 ML500 has all 4. What I am trying to say is that is not the reason for your bas/esp light. You are saying that you had a leak at the washer tank. It is very common to have ESP/BAS/ABS issues after leaks. Next to the washer is the ABS pump with the hydraulic unit. On the hydraulic unit there is a black box which is the electrical part of the hydraulic unit. There is a big electrical connector that plugs in to it. When you have a leak at the washer reservoir the plug gets wet & the problems start. Firstly check the plug for corrosion & make sure it is dry.
