Hi y'all ... wondering if there is any competition to the E240 and ML350 for a cheaper value? I own both of these cars and I can't honestly say that there are any other cars that could compete for with those for the same price or lower; the reason I am asking this is because a lot of my friends (non-MB owners) are telling me that there are so many cars that have most of the specs (bi-xenon, CD changer, etc ...) and for better value? If it is not too much trouble guys, could anyone give me any confirmation (detailed if possible) on that matter? thanks a lot, ~SLR~

 

I have no idea about the E240? but great competition for the ML is th VW Touareg. The VW has Xenon and cd changer as options, the 6 cyl starts at 32 stripped, and the 8 cyl starts at 37500 stripped. Leather options start at $2K. The VW won MotorTrends SUV of the year (2004) and the suspension was co-designed by Porsche (I have test drove each, the VW might edge the ML a bit... its more of a personal preference thing?). Just an opinion, not flaming or knocking either vehicle. Although it is hard to pay 40-50K (after options) for a VW.
