There isnt an adjustment that I have ever made on the shifter. The only adjustment is your shift linkage to your tranny...It has nothing to do with your reverse lights. Sounds like your shifter is wearing out. I have changed quite a few. Just not for this promblem

 

Can a shifter really wear out at 57000 miles? What other typical wear signs are there?
