Hello
I run 35 12.5 r17 tyres on my ml270, I'm looking at running a/t instead of mud tyres,

What tyre sizes are people running and what tyres

Thanks Andy

255 is too narrow. Stock size is 275/55/17 for a ML500. Biggest tire without a lift is 285/65/17 which is what I currently have.

The OP owns an ML270. His tyres & ML500 tyres are not the same size.
Yes the stock size for a 500 is 275/55/17. If you want it wider you have to go 285/50/18, which is ML55 size.
255 is not narrow, it is stock size for Ml320 255/65/16

Hi All, Just bought an 03 350 for my kids first car. I have 255/60 R17 on it and the front are new so I would like to replace the back tires which are mismatched and worn. The front are Bridgestone Dueler H/L so I will use those regardless but I'm wondering about size. Obviously on the front I will keep the 255/60's but does anyone run staggered and is it even worth messing with or just stick to the same size all round? If you do run staggered, what do you think is appropriate? Thanks all.

The size you have on the front are the correct. Get the same make and model tires for the rear.

If you use different size tires, the ESP/BAS lights will come on because of the different rotational speed of the different sizes.

hey buddy, I know this is from 2015, but did your tyres run at 285/65r17? Had them checked in my local tyre shop, they’ve never put that size on before and they say it’ll rub.

cheers!
