Mercedes Gst (grand Sport Tourer) & New M-class Prototypes
Found this on a site....
Built in Tuscaloosa / Alabama (USA), the GST is a derivative of the next Mercedes M-class. Both new vehicles are due in the U.S. in 2004 and will hit European and Asian shores in 2005. The additional GST-class brings production capacity from today’s 80.000 units per year to 200.000. While the new M-class will remain the luxury 4x4 off-roader with perfect on-road capabilities, the so-called Grand Sport Tourer will be a super-luxury and extremely huge Off-Roader / MPV crossover. Its dimensions are quite impressive: With a wheelbase of about 3.20 metres and an overall-length of 5.11 metres and a width 1.92 metres it will be very roomy and will have all comfort features conventional top-class limos generally offer their passengers. The great dimensions point to U.S. market. Height, however, will only be 1.65 metres
The new GST, as well as the next M-class, will both have unibody construction and no ladder frame. Computer-controlled air-suspension will be standard for the GST while it will be an option for the new M-class. The new SL’s sophisticated brake-by-wire system, though, will be on board of both cars. While the new M-class will be a five-seater, the GST will feature three rows of seats
GDI V6-engines with 3.0 or 3.6 litres (231 / 258 HP) as well as Common-Rail diesel V6s with 2.6 or 3.0 litres (190 / 218 HP) will be available from the start. A 5-litre V8 with 300 HP will be offered for both cars later, as well as a 5.5-litre V8 with 350 HP for the AMG-version.

Hi,
I'm not sure if you saw the Vision GST concept from the 2002 Detroit auto show a few months ago, but that is the "Grand Sport Tourer" whose covered-up pictures are posted above. I tried to attach pictures of it, but it didn't seem to work, so here's a link to a page that has some pictures- http://www.angelfire.com/ny5/a_bakshi/gst/gst.htm
Thanks,
mbakshi

No, the pictures at the top of the page are not photoshopped.
They are actual pictures from the Detroit show. You can go on any major car site, like carpoint, to verify that.
It is also on display at the NY Auto Show, going on right now.
Some of the pictures under the line that says "The pictures below were posted before the GST's Detroit Auto Show release", which look very different, were before the Auto Shows and are computer-generated pictures.
Thanks,
mbakshi
