ML500 2002
Low Coolant Light but fluid is at the level
I have a 2002 ML500 the Low coolant light has come on. It drives fine when on highways but then will start to heat up above normal operation. The fan kicks works but I'm not sure if it kicks into a high speed. Any suggestions ?

2002 ML 320 & 2006 ML500
When it is fine with hwy. speeds but not at idle, it is the Fan Clutch that must be replaced.

Would that cause the low coolant light to come on as well ?

Yes it could trigger the light, but do this easy test to find out if the Fan Clutch is operating correctly.
