ML320 beeping issue

Hi Everyone.
Firstly thanks for taking the time to ready this and helping me out.
I know this question has been asked a billion times on the internet and I have read a lot of them and I still cant find an answer to this.

I guess once they fix the issue its like they don't come back and let everyone else hanging know that happened and how they solved the problem. This issue seems to happening a lot and well I just cant figure it out online.

Some information about my money pit.
Black ML320 year 2000
I'm an Xpat living in Hong Kong so talking to my mechanic......well lets just say its sign language at the moment.
I really need to figure this out or I'm going to drive her off a cliff.

The Problem:
Emergency Brake light on (e brake/handbrake) whatever you call it.
Now this light comes on at random times accompanied with constant beeping.

Its not on when start , it may not come on at all , BUT it will happen at least once per day.
I restart the car and it goes away, but returns at any random time after that.

Define random: It doesn't beep at all on the way to work , after work on the way home it will start beeping half way through the journey. Flat smooth surface or bumpy doesn't matter.
It wont beep today but then tomorrow it will beep during a drive around.
Note and something very annoying. when the mechanic drives it will not beep at all. but when I get it back and drive it home it beeps.

Back to information about the car:

There is no other light on, only the E brake light with beeping.
I have replaced the Brake pads last week.
Brake fluid is full
E brake switch is in place and works normally(as I can see) switch moves in and out easy. When starting the car e brake light on then I release it and the light goes away, start journey. Like normal.
E brake is completely up.
I've tried not using the e brake for a long time but still happens

If you could shed some light on this that would be great.
Mechanic doesn't know cause it doesn't happen when he has it.

Thanks

When you release the parking brake, try to put your foot behind the parking brake (e brake) pedal and pull towards you gently, to make sure the pedal is fully released. Let me know if this works

Did you change the brake pad wear sensors? If you did, have you connected the plug?

Hey man, did you ever get this solved? If you did, can you please share the solution? Mine just started exact same symptoms, have no idea where to start. Scanning the car didn't show anything.

Thanks.

Try disconnecting the Parking Brake Switch, S12 two wire connector.
