Fuel Trim Malfunction

I keep getting a fuel Trim Malfunction (P0170 and P0173). I had the fuel filter changed and new plugs prior to the first Check Engine Light. The codes were reset and came on again after about 500 miles and a quick weld job on the Right Cat (15 miles after the repair work). This time, the codes were P0170 andP0173 as before, but also P0150- O2 sensor bank2 sensor1. Those were erased and about 600 miles later, P0170 and P0173 set off the CEL.

The truck (99 ML 320) is running fine, gas milage is fine, and I was wondering if anyone had any ideas. My Mechanic is getting a Mercedes diagnostic reader next week and will take a look at it then. He seems to think it's a vacuum hose leak somewhere, but wants to read the codes first.

Those are the telltale codes for a bad mass-airflow sensor.

Update:

The CEL went off by itself today. Are there such things as hard or soft codes... i.e. soft may be reset if problem corrects itself?
