cold tire vibration

I have a 2013 ML350, about 40K miles, bought new . Bought a set of Conti DSW's last October to for winter/wet driving. Tires were noisy at first, mileage suffered for about 6 months - now there is muted vibration for the first 15 minutes of driving ( at highway speeds) then it disappears, seemingly as the tire pressure and temp increases. I've read about flat spots, rebalancing, etc.
Is this a characteristic of these tires? It's more a nuisance than a problem.
My M is well maintained.
Any ideas?
