OK, ALRIGHT, ALREADY, What is the TRUTH!

Hi All,

I have a 2002 ML320 and want to install a touch screen head unit from BOSS. I have read about 100 posts and seen about 40 videos on how to do this AND I am more confused and conflicted than ever over the Bose Amp issue.

I would like to re-use the Bose Amp, some sources I have seen say to get the Metra VW adapter (70-1784) and wire it up and it works great, while others say get the adapter and wire an amp integration device in line or risk blowing up the output transistors. Problem is when I look for the amp integration adapter I can not find one for my ML320!!!! Or will any one at all work?

Please, please, please can someone clear this up for me? I have everything ready to install with the exception of the the amp integrator.

If I need an integrator where can I get one for my system, if not, then what do I have to look out for in my installation?

Thank you very much for any and all information or comments you all can make, it is very much appreciated.

The consensus is to ditch the Bose amp. It's a glorified crossover that is going to put out less wattage than your car stereo, assuming 4 x 60 to 80 watts. Just wire from the headunit to the speakers. The 2ohms vs 4 ohms isn't going to matter and it is going to sound better without the amp. The front door speakers are wired in parallel, anyway. Sell the amp to buy a powered subwoofer.

Otherwise, there is this http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from...ation&_sacat=0
