Transmission problem. 400cdi w163
I have W163 400cdi. I used to tow. While I drive 100km the transmission overheat and won't change gears. First time use 1,2,3,4 gear after 1,2,3. My fuel economy is catastrophic. What can I do?

Trailer with car. About 800-1200kg. 150 miles maximum

How did you know that the trans. overheated?

If you are going by the temp. gauge, then it is probably the the elec. cooling fan in front of the radiator.

Because the fan is spinning does not mean that everything is OK. It might not be spinning fast enough, especially under a load.
