1998 ml320 can someone please identify this part for me ??????

Hello I have been trying to find the name of this particular sensor that is leaking oil. It looks like oil because aft fluid has a reddish color to it. The rubber boot seems to be leaking oil and I need to replace it. The sensor is located under the drivers side of the suv and looks to connect to the transmission pan. I thought it might the transmission sensor but it doesn't seem to match up. I have provided a picture below and like i mentioned before it connects to the transmission pan looks to be some type of sensor with a rubber boot and a steel line that's attached and looks to be leaking from the rubber boot. Any help is much appreciated!

yes the transmission pan is right in front of that part so the transmission is on the back side.

Here is the part number 140 270 13 65 that you must buy from the dealer, it's approx. $20.

In order to do this, the trans. oil must be drained and the pan must be dropped, so you will need the pan gasket and filter and fluid. While you are at it, drain the torque converter and you will have all new fluid.
