Whenever there is a problem with the transmission, it uses the the Eng. Control Module to alert the driver & illuminate the CEL, hence your code P0705.
You need a scanner that is able to read ETC codes (Electronic Trans. Control) where it will be more precise explaining the problem.
Understand that after repairing, the codes in the ECM and Trans modules must be cleared.
Have you recently spilled any liquid on the shifter?

My wife left the sunroof open twice and allowed rain to soak the shift console. Both times resulted in having to replace the shifter. It's not a difficult job to replace. I regard myself to be a somewhat inexperienced DIYer. If I can do it, they you can too.
A word of caution - I made the mistake of purchasing a used shifter on eBay from a sunny Arizona dealer. While the shifter was in terrific shape (looked brand new) it did not work and was refused a refund. I ended up having to obtain a new one from the dealership.
