2005 ML350
2005 ML 350, P0705

Transmission range Sensor A code, stuck on first gear, will not shift past neutral unless I turn the ignition off, Display gone blank. What do I do?

Whenever there is a problem with the transmission, it uses the the Eng. Control Module to alert the driver & illuminate the CEL, hence your code P0705.

You need a scanner that is able to read ETC codes (Electronic Trans. Control) where it will be more precise explaining the problem.

Understand that after repairing, the codes in the ECM and Trans modules must be cleared.

Have you recently spilled any liquid on the shifter?
