Angry Problem 270 cdi Auto

I purchased a new ML 270 cdi a couple of months ago and already had a problem with the ABS which has been rectified.

A couple of days ago I was driving up my driveway(about 150Mtrs) and the vehicle slowed and stopped although engine was running at normal acceleration speed. It was similar to running an auto with low transmission fluid. Net result of this was that it was carted away and has been in the dealership for two days. They cannot find any problem save for stating that a problem with the auto box did show up on the diagnostic equipment. That said they can't find what it is. Apparently 'it is driving okay and ready for collection!'

I have suggesed to them that it could be a computer chip problem but they don't wish to do down that road. Any suggestions or similar experiences would be welcome.

I take you talking about an automatic transmission on your Auto?
I have a ml 270 CDI Manual six speed, with 17000 Km very happy with it no know problems other than the typical window swithes.

ML slowing on drive

Were you reserving up an inclined drive...

If so, I had a problem with my first ML whereby when selecting reverse it had no power. It felt as if it was trying to reverse in a second or third gear.

I could overcome the problem by selecting PARK before selecting REVERSE... my dealer never found the fix.

My 2002 ML has a different auto gearbox and is much much better
