bas esp light intermittent fault

I have a ML320 2002 130,000 miles. The Bas/esp light comes on each time I drive, usually after about 5 miles. It resets on switch off and restart. No codes are stored that I can access.

Things I have tried to cure it.

Change brake light switch. No change.
Reset steering angle sensor by turning wheel full lock. No change
Disconnection of battery apply brake for 30 seconds. Re connect and reset steering angle sensor. No change.

Any ideas where to try next? I will be having the Brakes completely changed soon with new rotors pads and calipers.

Many thanks

Terry

Once the ESP/BAS light comes on, a code will be set. The code reader/scanner you are using is not able to diagnose "C" codes stored.

Thanks. I will see what happens when the brakes have been completely changed if that does not sort the issue I will buy a recommended scanner to see what the issue is. The brakes need replacing badly anyway.
