2002 ML500 battery drain
Hi Everyoone,
We have a 2002 ML500 that I recently replaced the battery. The old one finally stopped taking a charge it seemed, so I purchased a new one a month ½ ago and installed. The car doesn't get driven a lot, but after two weeks the car wouldn't start due to no battery power. I took the battery back to the seller, and charged it overnight, and then ran diagnostics the next day with it showing it took and is holding the charge. I took it back and re-installed. Three weeks later, dead battery again. The car has not been driven allot, but should the battery die that soon? Are there normal draws on the battery for a 2002 ML500 that would explain this, or is the battery proabably bad. I'm ready to take it back to exchange for another new one.
Thank yoy for any insight.
-John

It's not the battery, it's you that is causing the drain.
There are quite a few modules in the truck that draw low amperage to keep themselves ready. Over time sitting idle, it will drain the battery.
