2002 ML500 battery drain

Hi Everyoone,

We have a 2002 ML500 that I recently replaced the battery. The old one finally stopped taking a charge it seemed, so I purchased a new one a month ago and installed. The car doesn't get driven a lot, but after two weeks the car wouldn't start due to no battery power. I took the battery back to the seller, and charged it overnight, and then ran diagnostics the next day with it showing it took and is holding the charge. I took it back and re-installed. Three weeks later, dead battery again. The car has not been driven allot, but should the battery die that soon? Are there normal draws on the battery for a 2002 ML500 that would explain this, or is the battery proabably bad. I'm ready to take it back to exchange for another new one.

Thank yoy for any insight.

It's not the battery, it's you that is causing the drain.

There are quite a few modules in the truck that draw low amperage to keep themselves ready. Over time sitting idle, it will drain the battery.
