ml nav inaccuracy
my navigation has been somewhat innaccurate. my dealer has replaced the mcs, antenna, cable between. today the dealer told me i need a new disc and software upgrade. i am still under factory warranty so the dealer will not charge me for the software upgrade, yet wants me to pay 175 for the disc. any ideas if this might fix my problem and if this charge is something i should have to pay? thanks

If your truck is under factory warranty you should not have to pay for anything.

Remember that the GPS system is supplied by the military and has a deliberate error put in so your position is never 100% accurate. I think that the accuracy is suppost to be within 100m 98% of the time.
I wouldn't pay for the disc. There is definitely a problem, let them pay!!!

There is not much in a NAV that can go wrong in the ML...
and for that matter just about any GPS based NAV system...
The accuracy is governed by multi million dollar satellites and not the $1500 Nav unit in your ML...
Only thing that can be done is replace the GPS receiver of the ML to see if that makes a difference...but apart from that the wire, antenna, software or disc...have nothing to do with accuracy of the NAV...they either work or they don't.

You can always get a replacement CD for something like $5.99+S/H
If you call up NavTech and request a replacement CD for the one that you already have (same version..just a new CD)...it shouldn't cost you more than $5.99+S&H..
I still don't though that, that will solve your problem..

yeah, i think im gonna pay the ridiculous price of 175 and let all the blame lay with mb. that way if the nav isnt perfect afterwards then i can really let them have it.
