Question Leaking oil?

This never happend to me all the times i had changed the oil myself until now. The oil is leaking from the drain plug and i was told that the compression ring on the drain pulg never needed to be changed. What can i do to stop the leak?

You may have over tightened the drain plug and damaged the compression ring (washer). In addition you may have damaged the threads. I would try to replace the compression washer first and if that does not work try replacing the drain plug. Worst case is that you will have to replace the oil pan----big job. Guess on this one you did not save any $$$

That "compression ring" is called a crush washer and needs to be changed every time. A copper washer works just as well. I think this will solve your leak.
