ML 320 , when going round a round about this morning my car automatically went into PARK Mode and made my car veer to the right and onto the round about ...why would or did this happen

Did the shifter actually move into Park?

 

It was actually my Daughter who was driving the vehicle at the time ( I wasn't there ) . What she said was that the steering wheel locked , veered to the right then she saw that the shifter was showing to be in parking mode . As you are probably aware to do this manually you have to shift up into Neutral and then press the end of the shifter to park ....

 

Why haven't you asked your daughter if the shifter actually went into park?
