2005 ml270 steering rack replacement issues
I have replaced a failed steering rack on the above car and after fitting, there doesn't seem to be any assist in the steering, it's like the pump doesn't come to life, can't hear it whining at all. I've taken the pipes off the rack individually and seen fluid pumping out when I turn the wheel so I'm happy that it's getting all around but just no help from the pump. There's an esp/bas fault light in now too. Has anybody got any ideas or suggestions?
kind regards

The two front wheels must be raised off the ground and turn the steering wheel back and forth 30+ times in order to expel the trapped air. If not, the screen in the P/S reservoir will be damaged.
