Problem with Rear Fan controls and Rear window switches
I had someone in the backseat of my truck the other day who tried to roll down the passenger side rear window and the switch was non-responsive. I then tried the other window and the controls for the rear A/C and fan all of which did not work. The switches in the front center console roll down the rear windows with no problem. Any ideas where I should start my trouble shooting?
Thanks

With the key on or eng. running, check both contacts on fuses with a test light or DVOM.
Check fuse #43 in the engine fuse box for the rear blower.
Check fuse #24 in the right side kick panel fuse box for the rear windows.

I got the rear blower working. Now the front windows also stopped. The power mirror controls also went out but the door unlock button still works. The lights come on for all the switches at night. I checked every fuse in the car and they are all good.

Do you have a test light? If not get one.
For the mirrors, with the key on, check fuses 2, 25, 31 & 36.

I got the rear fan controls to work by replacing the F-43 fuse under the hood. Of the 6 window switches I only ever had a problem with the two for the rear passengers. I gave up on them being that I could still control the rear windows from up front. About a week ago all the window switches went out including the controls for the side mirrors. I've never done anything to the electrical system besides check the 3 fuses you pointed out to me. Is there any relays or control modules I should be looking into?

Anthony, after the initial problem you must have done something for the other components not to operate. What did you do?
How did you check the fuses above?

Hi Major,
I promise you I'm not leaving anything out and I'm not one to just fiddle with stuff. After the initial problem all I did was check the three fuses. F-43 in engine bay and F-24 and F-25 inside of passenger kick panel. F-43 was blown and I replaced it. As I said the 4 window switches in the center console have always worked. Then one day out of the blue they all stopped working. They came back on two days later all by themselves only to go out permanently by the end of that day. I know it sounds crazy but that is the truth. It's driving me crazy to not be able to roll down my windows and pay tolls. I checked the fuses with my volt meter on both sides of each fuse you sent me with the car running. They all varied slightly but all had voltage. I know this is a tuff one but I really want to avoid having to take it to the dealer. Thanks for any help.

For the windows only, with key out of ign., swap relay #8 with same color relay in rt. side kick panel The turn key to pos. #2 and try windows. Let me know what relay # you used.

There was no other relays that were the same so I went to the dealer and got a new one. Turns out its not a relay at all but some kind of jumper. Is this what it is supposed to be?
I opened it up to show you what it looked like inside.

Could you have spilled liquid onto the console at one time or left the roof open while it was raining? Look at the damage any liquid causes.

Well after almost 3 months of not working I took the car to the car wash yesterday and as I was vacuuming off the center console I hit one of the driver side window switch and the window went down. I have no idea what fixed it or what broke it. Mercedes electrical?!
