You can purchase an extended warranty from your dealer or any MB dealership within the first year from the date of purchase, between $2.4k to $2.7k(an additional 3 yrs from the mfr warranty)

Extended Warranty
I paid $2,720 + $61.20 (tax) = $2,781.20 for my extended warranty at MB of Alexandria, VA on 5/10/2004. That's for the 84 month/100,000 mile variety . . . which is, of course, a 36 month/50,000 mile extension of the manufacturer's warranty.
