what do you have to say about this engine ? I can probably offer him less also .what would I need to change on the cl500 engine for it to fit in my ml500
I got an 2006 cl500 engine and installed on my 2002 ml500 I replaced engine mounts, exhaust manifolds, oil pump and oil pans. I think that's about it. I did use original Mercedes sealant for pans. Whole outside I replaced valve covers, plugs, thermostat.if you have 160k I would replace all hoses, frontal and the ones that to to heater core on the back.

there is a 2000 ml55 near me in the junkyard it would be nice to slap that motor in my ml500 , maybe even just the heads or camshafts & injectors . I seen a guy install an ml55 motor & transmission into his ml430 but he had to take the chip from ml55 ecu & solder it to the ml430 ecu because the rear differentials are different & I presume other slight differences that weren’t mentioned check it out .

hey bro 🤝. I have a question. Do you know if the camshaft bearing bridges can be swapped into any m113 cylinder heads or can they only be paired with the heads they were removed from originally . because I believe different camshaft can be swapped . So it got me thinking if the bridge was uniquely & precisely machined to its own head , thanks 🙏

You cant just swap the caps, lower camshaft seats and upper caps are machined together, trying to swap caps to another head would be a lot of work (if even possible), since you would have to plastigauge/layout stain every single cam seat, and manually make sure surface contact is ok and oil clearance is ok too, swapping camshafts in good condition (no wear) should not be a problem but using caps that came originally with the head, and not switching their original position.
