Remote Starter Install

Had a technician friend of mine install a Viper 791xv alarm with a remote starter kit. Got the alarm installed but couldnt get the remote starter to work due to the transponder security of the ML320. We tried installing a universal transponder kit that uses a spare key but it wouldnt work unless you had the key in the ignition. Has anyone had the same problem and came up with a working solution?

We used a Universal Transponder Immobiliser Bypass Kit in which my installer used my extra key. For some reason, whenever we tried to remote start the car, it would not start. However, when I took the key with the transponder and put it up against the ignition, the car then started. I dont know why it turned out that way. I really would like the remote start feature if we could ever get it work. I purchased the universal transponder immobiliser bypass kit from Pepboys. Maybe the one I used wasnt the best, are there better brands out there?

So are you saying that both keys work with the new imobilizer and that it just does not work from a distance? Autogunner.

Remote start Install

Mid City engineering has a Module that works well , doesn't need a spare key
Mid city engineering is a Vender on these forms. Arctic Start has a keyless start kit and a module kit. Over at Benzworld.org go to the w-163 forums , They have much better info , on your issues
