Ka-Boom!?!

A friend of mine borrowed the ML this weekend to move and was driving down the road when a big boom was heard and smoke came out of the engine compartment. After that, the oil light has been on constantly and the air blows hot all the time. Any ideas? THX

Take it to the dealer, not worth trying to sort the problem yourself. Smoke mixed with a potential oil problem could end up being rather costly! Best get an expert to look for the problem.

Your friend cold have run it hot or the efan could have quit working that could be why your A\C is not cold,"because the efan is not working", but you need to take it in or better yet have it toed in because a engine replacement is above $10,000.00. Autogunner.

Did you look inside the engine Bay to see what was damaged on the Inside? I would bet the Harmonic balancer broke loose and took out your oil pan and radiator and condenser coil. I would think you took it to the shop I don't think it would be drivable if it was the Harmonic Balancer.

Please let us know what the repair shop or the dealer found.

took it in to the dealer today, the air conditioning hoses or something were not reconnected securely after an accident i had. the service manager took care of the bill and said it was a malfunction of the vehicle. saved the body shop a lawsuit of over $2000 but thanks for your input!
