I had it 3 years in each of my other Benz's but this year I removed 'em all. During those 3 years, I used it maybe twice on SLK to get direction and another time to call and ask about how to use it.

For $240/year, no thanks. Just use your cell phone when you need anything.

I've got it in my ML and my mother has it in her CLK. It's useful for me because I always lock my keys in the car. My mom uses it because her CLK didn't haver the available navigation. So, yes, to me, its worth $240 per year.

I've got it in my E55 and my wife's ML500 -- I think of it as expensive insurance... We use it for piece of mind should an accident occur where the airbags deploy -- then TeleAid calls you and dispatches help if you don't answer...

Wish they had a less expensive option for this use -- I don't use it otherwise.

Regards,

Martin in NH

Use your mobile phone when you need anything, like to track your car if it is stolen?

No I do not think tele aid is worth it. all you need is the navigation system and a good cell phone and you are set. Then again if you are in a serious accident and knocked unconcious then Teli Aid would be handyto have because they would get help for you and pinpoint your location.

Get it, because 1st year is free.

I talked about this last year. I had TeleAid for my C class.. and my wife got in accident (rollover). The car was upside down and TeleAid kicked in.. A representative got on and ask if she needed assistance. TeleAid shoots a signal to locate you through GPS and calls the police and gives your location.

I also want to give props to Mercedes in their engineering with the roll cage around the car. When I went to look at the damage. The car did not cave in. Which saved my wife's life, and prompt us to get another Mercedes.

I bought the car and they offered TeleAid free for a year, with 30 airtime talk. I mean you can make a call, ask directions, or get help. I would recommended to anyone because somethings can happen at anytime.

It Really Depends on Your residence and how you use the truck.

It's a good thing if there's risk of the truck being stolen - in that case it's essentially a lojack and your ML can be located almost anywhere. It's also useful if you get into an accident in which the airbag is deployed - SOS is automatically activated and help will get to you if you can't access 911 with a cell phone. Otherwise, it's not worth the price. Remember that after the one year free SOS, you get charged/minute for every call you make through the system, in addition to your annual subscription!!!! I dropped mine on both MBs after the first year.

Scorchie, I have Lo Jack in case the car is stolen. I think that's a good system as any, and having Tele-Aid for that reason would be redundant in my case.

You're just hoping that your car gets stolen where there is LoJack coverage... TeleAid coverage is much denser, although the LoJack recovery guarantee is nice monetary insurance.

I worked on a car with LoJack earlier this week and installed a TV tuner. During that installation, I got to see what a poor job the installers did with LoJack... so it's a gamble on the abilities of the installer. TeleAid, being OEM, won't have that issue.
