Heater fan not working

Hi I have a 2003 ML350 and the heater fan has stopped working. It has power coming to the resistor but no power coming out. Installed a new resistor and still the same. So I am stumped now. What wires should have voltage coming to the resistor? Thank you for any information.

Thanks yes I have been looking, and haven't seen any info for this situation. Your example is not like my situation they had air blowing my fan doesn't turn on at all, its not getting any power at all. I possibly could have gotten a bad new resistor but thought maybe the switch isn't sending the right signal to the resistor or something.

Open the hood, turn the key to pos. #2 and go to the Coolant Circulation Pump, directly below the battery. Feel the pump body with your hand to see if it is operating.

Ok I will check that pump tonight when I get home, not sure if this means the pump was working or not but if I put power to the fan motor it does blow out heat but I will make sure that pump is running. Thank you

That pump is not running is there a fuse or anything or does that just mean replace that pump?

The red wire going to the resistor had no power but the 40 amp fuse was good wiggled the wires above the fuse box and the fan started now just have to find where the bad spot is at but the circulation pump is not running but the hose on each side of the pump is hot and when the fan works it is hot air so I am wondering what does that pump do?

1. Please retry the procedure for the pump with a cold eng.

2. The RED wire is on circuit 30, meaning that it is hot at all times. From the blower motor it goes directly to X18 so the problem must be between those two.

check the relay on your EBox located under your hood driver side. It will say blower fan on the mapping

What is the procedure to diagnose the coolant pump in 2000 E320 (W210)? Same as the ML? Should it have power when engine is cold? Thanks.

Thanks. I wanted to know whether the engine needed to be hot, or needed to be cold for this diagnosis. I wasn't feeling any vibration from the pump. Checked voltage at electrical connection: 12.something. Gave it a couple of raps with a screwdriver handle and it came to (noisy? - no reference to compare) life. Have ordered replacement.
