Radiator/Condenser Fans not working

The A/C in out Ml430 has been kind of weak especially at idle and decided to investigate. When examining A/C system pressures(which were quite high) I realized the fans were not working, not even one of the two. I swapped the relay that handles the fan with another of the same type, but, no luck. Any ideas how I can troubleshoot this issue? The dealer will surely find a way to get the bill to $1000, so, I don't want them to touch it.

Did you check the fuse. If you changed the relay I assume you checked the fuse first. Fuse #44 located under the hood protects the condenser fans

Damn Fuse!

I checked the wrong fuse! #44 was blown, replaced it and the fans are operational. Thanks!!

#44 Fuse / Wiring Upgrade

If the fuse blows again you may need the factory upgrade. It has a larger gage wire and I think a larger fuse.

ML430, Mini Cooper S and Porsche 911 Twin Turbo
or just replace the fuse with a 45Amp....

That's what I did to mine as a temporary fix. Suspect it would have been ok longer term as the fuse would have still been the weak link in the current supply to the fans.

Question Auxillary Fans not working

Please HELP!! The fans on my E320 are not working. Fuse seems OK. How do I know if they are even hooked up? I bought this car last year and don't believe they've ever worked either one of them.

Does your AC work .Turn your AC on. The Aux fans will turn on. If they don't you have problems.
