Using double-sided tape on the Chrome Tailgate Handle Cover?

I was looking at adding a Chrome Tailgate Handle Cover and http://www.formymercedes.com has those but the description says: "..this accessory is easily installed in minutes using the included durable all-weather double-sided tape..."

Is the double-sided tape the only way to add this chrome tailgate? Has anyone tried it? I'm a not confident that if I need to use tape for the installation, this tailgate will last very long.

Does anyone knows what's the OEM part # and how much does it cost?

I have the tailgate handle from For My Mercedes... very durable, still is on and doesnt budge, Its been close to a year and a half with it on. If you are weary of it and afraid it will come off, you can buy the 2004+ Tailgate handles, my dealership said 250. I said no way, and just went ahead with the one from Jerry.

Sorry for the small pic, heres mine.

Mine, also, has been fine for 15 months. Don't try the same with the tailgate filler though--use marine-grade double stick on mine and lost it in sub-zero conditions going skiing!
