Noise

Hi, I have a 1999 ML 430 with 238.000 km and noticed a noise coming from where the pedals are or under the steering wheel. I can hear the noise when I turn the key to battery mode, when the engine is running and when I switch off the engine. The noise is more noticeable with the engine switched off. In the video below I switched off the engine and removed the key from the ignition.

(Better to use headphones)

What is making the sound?

Thanks, Jimmyy

At what second/time is it making the sound? Are you turning the key on & off?

The engine was on and I switched off. You can hear the noise at 4 seconds

Sorry, I have no idea what that sound is. Open the door and crawl into the foot area and turn the key on and see where the noise is coming from.

I put the phone inside the wheel arch of the front left tire and you can hear a roaring noise. The engine was switched off and no key in the ignition.

To me it sounded like the cooling fan. Do it again and see if the fan is running.
